This exquisite short gold chain necklace features a genuine nugget of green antique sea glass suspended from a focal point of five larger, matte-hammered links. Crafted to perfection, this necklace effortlessly blends classic design with contemporary flair.

Each element of this necklace is carefully chosen, creating a harmonious balance between sophistication and natural beauty. The antique sea glass, weathered by time and the ocean's constant motion, adds a touch of mystique, while the matte-hammered texture of the larger links provides a subtle yet striking contrast.

Versatile and timeless, this necklace effortlessly complements any outfit, adding a touch of understated glamour to your look. Whether you're attending a special event or simply want to elevate your everyday style, this handmade gold chain necklace is the perfect choice. Wear with my green and gold kink earrings here.

DETAILS

Length: 45cm extendable to 47cm
Antique sea glass, 14k gold filled metals.

14k gold-filled jewellery is crafted by bonding a thick layer of 14k gold to a base metal core, creating a durable and high-quality piece. Unlike gold-plated items, which have a thinner layer of gold and can wear off over time, gold-filled jewellery offers the look and feel of solid gold without the hefty price tag. It's a popular choice for its affordability, long-lasting shine, and resistance to tarnishing. When you buy 14k gold-filled jewellery, you're investing in a piece that combines the beauty of gold with the durability of a base metal, ensuring your jewellery remains radiant for years to come.

RARITY

Green sea glass is becoming rarer to find, although it is more common than other colours. This antique glass was collected in the Uk.
Please note, just like you, each piece is unique and you will not receive this exact necklace but one very similar.

FAQ

Where do you source your seaglass from?

I only used genuine, naturally tumbled antique sea glass. Much of it was collected by my own hands, from Seaham Beach in the UK. You can read a little about Seaham seaglass here.

The aqua blue and turquoise colours of seaglass are sourced from a collector in Japan that I have been working with for many years. These precious sea glass nuggets most likely originate from old sake bottles and glass floats. You can read more here about the Japanese sea glass and the awesome collector Christina Sawka.

The rich, opulent teal nuggets are sourced from Iceland, and most likely originate from bottles imported into Iceland before the second world war, right up to the '50's.

What metals do you use?

I use sterling silver, solid 14k gold, and 14k gold-filled (not plated) metals in my jewellery designs. Gold Filled is a term which refers to the technique of pressure bonding a layer of pure gold to a jeweller's base metal. My gold filled is made with 14-karat gold, and the gold represents 1/20th (or 5%) of the total weight of the material.
The process is permanent and the gold does not rub off like gold-plating can.

Where is your studio located and do you have a shop front?

My studio and shop are located on Gallery Walk
123 Long Road,
Tamborine Mountain, 4272
Qld, Australia

You can visit me in my studio, commission custom made jewellery as well as shop designs by Local and Regional Jewellery Designers.

How do I work out my Ring Size?

I use the British & Australian Sizing for rings. But can determine your ring size by whatever number or letter you provide me.

The best way to accurately measure your size would be to pop into a local jewellery store and have your ring size measured professionally.

What if my chain breaks?

The gold filled chains I use in most of my designs is made in Italy and in almost 15 years of creating with this chain I have only had a few repairs.
The 925 sterling silver chain I work with are supplied by an Australian metal merchant who sources these chains from America and Europe.

I will happily replace any faulty chains if the chain has failed due to manufacturing within 6 months of purchase.

If a chain is snapped somewhere along the chain due to mishandling by the wearer then I can replace the chain for you, for a nominal fee.

Simply get in touch with me by sending a photo to info@kriketbroadhurst.com

My goal is sustainability and sea glass and gems last an eternity with the right care. Therefore, I am always happy to refresh your jewellery, replace chains after years of use or clean your pieces for you. Fees depend on the amount of work needed to bring your jewellery back to life but are often far less than the purchase price.

What bangle size am I?

One way to work out your size is to measure the diameter of an existing bangle. Another is to point your fingers and squish them together then wrap string or cord around your knuckles at the widest point. Imagine the widest point at which a bangle needs to get past. Then measure the cord on a ruler. Click here to see our bangle size guide.
