FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS

Where do you source your seaglass from?

We only used genuine naturally tumbled sea glass. Much of it was collected by Kriket's own hands, from Seaham Beach in the UK. You can read a little about Seaham seaglass here. The aqua blue colours of seaglass are sourced from Japan and most likely originate from old sake bottles and glass floats. You can read more here about the Japanese sea glass and our awesome collector Christina Sawka. The rich, opulent teal nuggets are sourced from Iceland, and most likely originate from bottles imported into Iceland before the second world war, right up to the '50's.

What metals do you use?

We use sterling silver, solid 14ct gold, and 14ct gold-filled (not plated) - which refers to the technique of bonding a layer of pure gold to a base metal. The process is permanent and the gold does not rub off like gold-plating can.

Where is your studio and do you have a shop front?

We work from a home studio in Kriket's house which is located in Mosman, Sydney. No we don't have a shop front. We used to sell at Manly Market and Handmade Canberra market. However, Covid has made this rather difficult for us so we only sell online now. We do however welcome customers to the studio (lockdown allowing!) if they would like to discuss custom pieces. Please contact us to arrange a visit.

How do I work out my Ring Size?

Try measuring a ring you already own and use this ring guide; http://www.ringsizes.co - we use the British & Australian Sizing. Alternatively, the best thing to do would be to pop in to a local jewellery store and have your ring size measured professionally.

Do you do gift cards?

Yes. Just head to this link

What if my chain breaks?

We will replace chains if the chain has failed within two weeks of purchase. If a chain is snapped somewhere in the chain and not at the attachment end near the clasp (where it is designed to break when pulled excessively hard) our jewellers will review the chain before deciding whether to replace.

What bangle size am I?

One way to work out your size is to measure the diameter of an existing bangle. Another is to point your fingers and squish them together then wrap string or cord around your knuckles at the widest point. Imagine the widest point at which a bangle needs to get past. Then measure the cord on a ruler. Click here to see our bangle size guide.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?

All our jewellery is handmade, and therefore is shipped approximately two business days after receiving the order. There are some items which take a little longer but they should have a note about that in their description.

💧Estimated shipping times:

Australia: 2-6 business days with Australia Post standard shipping which includes tracking. Express postage is available - please select at checkout.

Actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method you choose.

  • New Zealand: Express Postage with Australia Post should take 5-8 business days.
  • United States: Express Postage with Australia Post should take 7-12 business days.
  • Europe: Express Postage with Australia Post should take 7-12 business days.

💧The international delivery times shown may be delayed by Coronavirus disruptions.

💧Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply to their order.

How will I know if my order has been shipped?

As soon as your jewellery has left  our studio, you will receive a shipping confirmation with your Auspost tracking number. Click on the tracking number and you can access to-the-minute location information of your order.

Can I return my purchase or exchange it?

We gladly accept returns and exchanges on most items, please contact us within 5 days of delivery. Providing the item is returned to us in the original packing, unworn, within a month of receipt, we will happily return your item. Cost of returns and original shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility. We cannot accept returns or exchanges on custom or personalised pieces or rings that are made to size. Due of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for them. For more information, please see our Returns and Exchanges Policy here.

The item I want is out of stock, what happens now?

If the item you would like is sold out, fill in your email address beneath the line "Kriket, can you please make me a piece like this?" We will get back in touch with you to confirm if and when we can make an item like the one you have selected. As sea glass is all completely unique, sometimes we have to wait until we source a similar nugget of seaglass before we can make the jewellery in question. It is always worth asking though as we usually have some gems squirrelled away!

Do you make custom orders?

Yes, we absolutely do! A large proportion of our work is custom orders. Simply email ATTN Lindsay at info@kriketbroadhurst.com with Custom Order in the subject line. Give us as much information as possible about the colours, size and shapes of the seaglass or stones you would like. Have a browse through the Inspiration Collection for ideas. It may be something as simple as a long gold chain with 2 charms and a piece of seaglass, or a more complex design such as a ring with seaglass and a gemstone.

We will then give you an idea of costing, estimated time of delivery and the ongoing process. You can read this quick blog post on commissioning rings.
