Hi, I'm Kriket
Hi I am Kriket, an ocean loving jewellery designer who has a studio on Tamborine Mountian, in the beautiful scenic rim of the Gold Coast Hinterland of Queensland, Australia. I live here with my little family and furry Schnauzie friend, Nandi.
For over 13 years I have been handcrafting beautiful jewellery collections made from antique sea glass, silver and gold. My passion is for designing beautiful jewellery for women who love pieces that are a little different from the mainstream, that tell a story about who they are, the journey they have travelled and who appreciate hand crafted pieces. My jewellery is delicate and minimalist, so it can be worn everyday, layered with your other favourite pieces and treasured for years to come.
Most days you can find me working at my jewellery bench in my studio with, Nandi, my constant companion under my feet. Each day is different, depending on the collection I am working on so I may be either drilling sea glass, filing metal, setting stones or sorting through glass for the perfect pair of earring nuggets.
I handcraft all my designs from raw metals and the antique sea glass I use is perfectly frosted and naturally formed by the constant motion of waves rolling the glass amongst pebbles and sand. Tamborine Mountain Arts Trail 4-12/05/2024
Over 2 weekends Tamborine Mountain will host the 2024 Artsist's trail. Discover hidden studios, outdoor public art, workshops and more over the May long weekend from Saturday 4th to Sunday 12th May, 2024.
My studio on Gallery walk will be open over both weekends. from 10 - 3 pm.
Jewellery Making Workshops 6&8/05/2024
Join us during the Tamborine Mountain Arts Trail for an enchanting journey into jewellery design. Together with Jen Robson, we're thrilled to offer two captivating workshops on Monday, May 6th, and Wednesday, May 8th, from 9 am to 11 am.
Housed within one of the original Artist's homes along Gallery Walk you will discover the art of crafting delicate silver or gold-filled hoop earrings from wire, guided by 2 passionate and experienced artists. Delve into traditional jewellery-making techniques and tools to shape and embellish metals like copper and brass, creating unique adornments to suspend from your hoops.
Under Jen's expert guidance, explore the beauty of supple leather, fashioning intricate leaf shapes that you'll texture and enhance with specialised leather dyes. Blend these elements seamlessly to craft versatile earrings that can be styled in multiple ways.
This hands-on workshop promises an exhilarating experience that ignites creativity and fosters a sense of wonder. Suitable for ages 14 and up, it's an opportunity not to be missed on your artistic journey. Join us and let your creativity flow.
Cost - $135 per person
This includes all the materials needed to create one pair of silver hoop earrings with 3 embellishments.
If you would prefer to make gold filled hoops an additional cost of $5 will be payable.
