Now that the Winter months are over and the Sydney weather is warming up I am back trading at the Manly Markets each fortnight. My stall where I sell my seaglass jewellery is usually situated amongst the Umbrellas section of the market at the top end of Sydney Road. You can catch upcoming dates here.
Set just metres from the iconic Manly Surf Beach, I love the laid back feel and vibe of one of my favourite Sydney markets. The locals are super friendly, the sun is nearly always shining and the ocean a perfect temperature (most of the year).
There are lots of great places to grab a bite to eat, either along the main strip overlooking the expansive stretch of golden sand that arcs along the main surf beach or down one of the atmospheric back lanes which migrate out from the central Corso.
If a restaurant doesn't take your fancy grab some take away and plonk yourself on the beach, bury your toes in the sand and while away the hours watching the lifesavers perform their drills or the surfers who spend hours catching perfect wave after perfect wave.
Once you are done with the oceanside, head to the Harbourside and enjoy a sundowner on the jetty and watch the legendary Manly Ferry cut its way across the sea to the city, whilst the setting sun performs a beautiful, picture perfect backdrop. You might even be lucky enough to catch sight of one of the little elusive Fairy Penguins , which have made their home under the jetty, coming into feed it's young.
